Want to Work with Brands? Here’s My Influencer Outreach Email Template
Today, I’m spilling the beans on one of the most sought-after secrets in the influencer world: crafting the perfect outreach email to collaborate with brands. Whether you’re a seasoned influencer or just dipping your toes into the world of brand partnerships, having a solid outreach strategy is key to landing those dream collaborations. In today’s post, I’m sharing my free influencer outreach email template and media kit template. So, grab your favorite cup of tea and let’s dive in!
One of the most common questions I get asked is: “How do I approach brands for a potential sponsorship?” While the answer isn’t cut & dry, I do have a helpful influencer outreach email template for you. I’m also sharing some tips and tricks on how to be more successful with brand collaborations.
What’s a brand sponsorship?
As a content creator or influencer, being sponsored by a brand means that a company is willing to pay you and/or gift you with free product in exchange for some content you create. My first brand sponsorships over 10 years ago were gifted product only in exchange for blog posts and social post. Now I get paid for partnerships and work with an agency on all of the details in the sponsorship contracts.
When you’re just starting out, it can be a little daunting to contact a brand about a sponsorship idea. However, if you craft a professional email and pair it with a beautiful media kit, you’ll be more likely to be successful!
Crafting the Perfect Outreach Email
Here’s an example of a good email to a brand regarding a potential sponsorship partnership. Use this influencer outreach email template as a guide, and personalize it to make it sound unique to you.

How to Find a Brand Contact
When reaching out to a brand you want to work with, it’s important to find their marketing or PR contact. Having the personal name & email address of a brand is essential to the start of a meaningful business relationship. My recommendation is to Google press releases for the brand. Often these press releases will contain the contact information of the marketing staff for the brand. Another option is to visit a brand’s website, and see if they have their PR or marketing contact listed. Sometimes, brands will even have forms or pages on their site dedicated to influencers wishing to partner with them through a sponsorship or affiliate relationship.
Importance of a Professional Looking Media Kit
Now, let’s talk about the importance of having a professional-looking media kit. Your media kit is essentially your influencer resume. It’s a snapshot of who you are, what you do, and why brands should collaborate with you. A well-designed media kit not only showcases your personality and aesthetic but also provides valuable insights into your audience demographics, engagement rates, and previous collaborations.
What if I don’t have any prior brand partnerships to showcase? What if my following is small?
When you’re just starting out as an influencer, you probably won’t have many followers or prior brand partnership experience. Firstly, I recommend waiting until you have at least a small but dedicated following on your social channels or blogs before you reach out to brands. There’s no magic number, but I personally was first successful with brands when I reached about 20,000 monthly sessions on my blog, and had at least 10,000 followers on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube etc. Secondly, if you don’t have any partnership experience to showcase on your media kit, you can showcase any of your past content pieces that you think the brand would enjoy. Perhaps share some photos or videos you’ve shared while doing a non-sponsored product review, a shopping haul, or sharing an affiliate product. Show the brand your unique style and your best work, whether it was sponsored or not.
